Join Us for The District’s Annual Holiday Shop Hop, Wassail Stroll & Holiday Lighting!
(Columbia, MO) - The District is excited to announce its annual Holiday Shop Hop, Wassail Stroll, and Holiday Lighting, marking the official kick-off to the holiday season! This festive all-day shopping event will take place on November 2nd, featuring special offers from your favorite downtown retailers. Be sure to check with local businesses for their holiday store hours.
This year, we are thrilled to introduce a new twist—the Wassail Stroll! From 2 PM to 5 PM, participants can enjoy complimentary samples of Wassail at various participating businesses. Attendees will receive a ballot to vote for their favorite Wassail.
As the sun sets, join us for The District Holiday Lighting at 7 PM, where we will illuminate our iconic holiday decor pieces in sync. Attendees can choose their favorite display to watch light up. Volunteers will be stationed at each location with ballot boxes for attendees to cast their votes.

We are also bringing back the beloved horse-drawn carriages! Carriage rides will begin at 4 PM in the Wishtree Courtyard, near Fretboard Coffee & Wishflour Bakery. Come early to secure your tickets, as they are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of The District.
The Executive Director of The District, Downtown CID, states, “It’s the best time of year. Our small businesses put so much work into their displays, offerings, wassail, and more. It’s time for Columbians to kick-off their holiday shopping and support our community businesses during this festive season!”
